We are happy to tell you that we finished our first Jolly Phonics group (s-a-t-i-p-n). So this past week we revised and we worked on the extra practice pages in our Jolly Phonics booklet. We also made a SOUND BOOK.
We learnt two new sounds:
/c/ as in CAT, CAN and CAP
/k/ as in KING, KISS and KITTEN
/ck/ as in SOCK, PICK and CLOCK
(they all have the same sound)
and /e/ as in EGG, PET and PEN
Last but not least, we had our first MOCK EXAM! We were tested on numbers, colours, school objects and Jolly Phonics group 1. Mock exams are a tool we use to get students used to exams. They are also useful for us teachers as they give us some feedback and help us to identify what topics need to be revised. We do not mark our mock exams with numbers and we study for them at school. There's no need for parents to study at home with the kids.
Hope you have a nice weekend!
See you on Monday!
